Jihyun Jung: Hangdog Art Sonje Center Until Jan. 21, 2024 Passage between the Real and the Unreal

By transforming the items that have lost their original functionality into an art form, the artist remains in a unique dialogue with the rapidly changing urban landscape.

Arario Gallery Cheonan Until March 3, 2024

The Arario Gallery Cheonan hosts a solo exhibition, “Passage between the Real and the Unreal,” featuring veteran artist Han Man-young. The show spans Han’s half-century oeuvre, showcasing his experimental artistic methods that blend styles like surrealism and hyperrealism, as well as an assemblage of objects and images sourced from various contexts. The exhibition includes some 70 pieces, offering an in-depth look at Han’s creative evolution.

Lightroom Seoul Until May 31, 2024

British artist David Hockney holds his first immersive media show, “Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away),” at the newly opened Lightroom Seoul in the city’s southeastern Godeok-dong. The show opened in Seoul after debuting in London earlier this year. The exhibition, arranged in six sections, brings to life Hockney’s iconic oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, videos and opera stage designs via immersive digital projections.
