Her upcoming performance will be joined by Jim Tomlinson on saxophone and flute and Art Hirahara on piano.

“The Phantom of the Opera,” the musical sensation that has enchanted over 160 million spectators worldwide since its premiere in 1986 in London, has made a triumphant return to Seoul after 13 years. Staged in the Korean language, the local rendition boasts a star-studded cast, including the veteran actor Cho Seung-woo playing the lead role of Phantom and Sohn Ji-soo as prima donna Christine.

Meet the tale of Joseon-era painter Choi Buk in this new musical adaptation. The historical fiction delves into the life of an artist who was revered as a master of landscape painting. But Choi was also known for his unconventional, eccentric acts such as submerging his finished paintings in water or tearing up his already sold artworks. The story takes a turn when one day, Choi, accompanied by his only friend Mu-myeong, sets off for Mount Geumgang. It is here that he pours his very soul onto the canvas, birthing his magnum opus.
