Naver Pay’s QR code payment has now become available at offline stores in 65 countries and regions around the world.

The mobile payment company announced, Thursday, that the partnership with UnionPay has added 23 new countries, including Canada, Indonesia, Turkey and New Zealand, to Naver Pay’s overseas service areas.

The tech firm’s mobile payment subsidiary has been expanding its overseas availability aggressively since September, forming partnerships with Alipay+ and UnionPay.

Naver Pay users can easily make payments with merchants using Alipay+ or UnionPay services in various countries via the Naver Pay app.

Using the mobile application, Naver Pay customers can pay with the money or points held by the users’ preregistered domestic accounts without having to exchange money into foreign currencies.

“We hope Naver Pay will position itself as a must-have service for domestic travelers who go abroad,” an official from Naver Pay said.

Marking the partnership with UnionPay, Naver Pay is carrying out various promotional events for payments used in Japan until the end of this year. Japan is one of the favorite overseas destinations of Korean travelers.
