Beyond—The Centennial Exhibition of Guei-Hong Won

Sungkok Art Museum is currently hosting an exhibition highlighting the oeuvre of painter Won Gueihong (1923-80) to commemorate the centennial of his birth. The show offers a rare opportunity to enjoy over 100 works of Won, who has largely been an unremembered figure since his sudden death at the age of 57. As a young man, Won abandoned his studies in economics to pursue his passion for art. The artist drew inspiration from still life, landscapes and alleyways in Seoul and subsequently birthed oil paintings that are serene yet memorable.
