By Kang Seung-woo ksw@koreatimes.co.kr

Forget about Da Nang, one of Vietnam’s top holiday destinations for Koreans.

Here comes Hoi An, a culturally rich heritage town that can satisfy the needs of travelers here in Korea who have suppressed their urge to travel during the

COVID-19 pandemic and are itching to explore new hideaways.

Vietnam has been a very popular a tourist destination for Koreans until the breakout of the pandemic. Since the relaxation of COVID-19 measures, the Southeast Asian country has seen a resurgence of visitors, with the number of Koreans traveling to the country reaching 173,000 in August alone — third-largest after the United States and Cambodia — as the world reopens once more.

Hoiana Residences, part of a $4-billion super project by Hoi An South Development, to build four luxury hotels along with a serviced apartment, opened its doors in November aiming to provide a luxurious five-star experience with a touch of home for those who want relaxation as well as entertainment, thereby bringing the customer experience to a whole new level.

Belonging to the Hoiana Resort and Golf integrated resort, located on a pristine coastline near two UNESCO World Heritage sites — Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, Hoiana Residences has 270 stylish serviced apartments, many of which have great ocean views. Plus, spacious private terraces enable visitors to watch stunning sunrises over the coastline.

It features four types of rooms, ranging from studios to three-bedroom options, with many units offering a fully equipped kitchen to complement its array of local products for self-catering or guests can even call on the services of their very own private chef to prepare a special meal.

Visitors to Hoiana Residences are also allowed to have access to a wide range of culinary options, an important deciding factor for any holiday destination, particularly among Koreans. With more than 10 restaurants and bars arranged throughout the Hoiana complex, visitors will surely have their food needs met, from both Eastern and Western cuisine, as they serve local specialties from Vietnamese cuisine (from North, Central and the South), a repertoire of classic comfort food from Asia, the freshest seafood, gourmet burgers, tapas and desserts.

These include Hao Viet, a warm and elegant eatery dedicated to offering the most authentic local dishes, The Edge, located on the 16th floor of Hoiana Hotel and Suites, which offers a beautiful ocean view while serving a wide range of tapas.

For those who want to taste Korean food that is currently catching on globally, there is Obaltan, the perfect place to experience a blend of traditional and contemporary Korean delicacies.

Plus, visitors can enjoy tailor-made meals without stepping out anywhere through the Chef on Call service, under which professional chefs freshly prepare the food in a guest’s room.

With COVID-19 restrictions eased or lifted, golf travelers are resurging and the Hoiana complex offers, arguably, the best links course in Vietnam at Hoiana Shores Golf Club.

The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., unfurls along the shoreline south of Hoi An and offers one of the most compelling golf experiences in Southeast Asia. In addition, the 18-hole golf course has gained recognition, having been awarded “Best Golf Course in Vietnam 2022” and “Top 10 Best Golf Course in Vietnam 2022” by Vietnam Golf and Leisure Awards. In addition, it also ranked 15th out of the top 100 golf courses in Asia by Golf Travel Korea and Golf Travel China.

It also provides cutting-edge gaming entertainment with over 140 casino card tables and 300 electronic games offering a variety of exhilarating gaming options.

Located near world cultural heritage sites and famous tourist attractions, visitors can get there easily by taking the Hoiana shuttle bus and the concierge team is always ready to support and advise visitors.

The four-kilometer beachfront Hoiana Resort and Golf club complex is made up of the Hoiana Hotel and Suites with 141 suites as well as the New World Hoiana Hotel with 476 guestrooms, and the upcoming KHOS Hoiana hotels and Rosewood Hoi An scheduled to begin operations in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Hoiana complex offers, arguably, the best links course in Vietnam at Hoiana Shores Golf Club.
