The Aztec Empire, overthrown by the Spanish invaders in 1521, is most familiar to us for its tragic ending. However, there is more than an ending to this part of history. At the exhibition at the National Museum of Korea, “Aztecs,” the audience can enjoy the intriguing stories of gods, myths and culture of the last great native civilization of Mesoamerica through artworks, scientific inventions and artifacts. The show brings in valuable artifacts from 11 museums in Mexico and Europe, including items that have never been unveiled to the public before.
